Welcome to the greatest Dornfelder you have ever met! Which perhaps is not saying much, but like, trust us! Dornfelder is a purpley-inky grape that is often overcropped and used to make intense-looking, but rather bland overcropped German blends. This is not that. The Flora is from a small plot - about and acre and a half - planted a half-century ago by Daniel and Jonas’s grandfather and his beloved horse, Flora. The parcels is one of their toughest to work, windy at the top of a hill and dense with limestone boulders. Like many things that are hardest, it yields some of the winery’s most special results. Combined with a sploosh of native German grape Blauer Portugieser and a blend of vintages to yield the most lip-smacking results.

TASTES LIKE

A deep dark lifted beauty that seems impossibly intense and bright at the same time. Muddled berry, nibs and violets meets soaring acidity and river stones. Your new favourite red wine here for now but now for long.
