Why? Because, when done right it’s so dang delicious. This is his 7th playful iteration of what Zinny can be (and the first time we’ve been lucky to snag some for Ontario!! A GW exclusive). Bright, crunchy, anise-y magic with a zippy core. All that baking spice gives it an italo-core that harkens back to Zinfandel’s Italian persona aka Primitivo. PRODUCTION & DRINKING

The seventh volume of Zinny Man was hand-picked and placed into a one ton vessel, where it was prepared for a submerged cap fermentation. Left undisturbed for two weeks, the ferment was completed with no punchdowns or pumpovers of any kind. Pressed at the completion of fermentation, the new wine was sent down to neutral 227L barrique where it rested for 19 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered in April of 2020. The final wine is a perfect cross between the succulent, juicy red fruits of California Zinfandel and the savory, rustic notes of Italian Primitivo, and all at a delicate 12.77% abv.
